Frequently Asked Question
ZB32 & ZB50 MODELS
Insight into machine capabilities:
The machines have two cam spindles, the smaller is for
even fluted tools and the Larger is for odd fluted tools.
Function of standard cams supplied:
No 4 - Standard drill point grinding and self-centring
points (such as the four-facet point) and also two flute countersinks.
No 6 – Used to relieve the shoulders on 2-flute step
drills, (sometimes-called pilot drills) and also two flute countersinks.
No 8 – Used to grind relief on 4-flute core drills,
taps and countersinks.
*Split-point grinding will require the optional CBN
wheel for point splitting and point grinding along with the standard No
4 cam.
Special optional cams:
Cam for 1-flute - single flute countersink relief.
Cam for 3-flutes - three flute core drills, taps and
countersinks relief.
Cam for 5-flute - five flute taps, countersinks and
reamer relief.
Cam for sheet metal points – This can basically
transform a standard drill or regrind a special geometry to suit sheet
metal drilling.
Cam for spiral points - Another self-centring point
useful and essential if a machine is sold into the structural steel
industry.
Cam for left-hand drills – two flute left-hand drill
point grinding. |
